Saturday, November 7th was a busy day for the Huntsville/Madison Co. groups.  The 1st Annual Band Together Concert was a SUCCESS!  The fundraiser raised funds for Asperger Connection, Inc.  Thanks to Vulcan Materials in Scottsboro, Available Plastics of Huntsville, Purity Dairy in Huntsville and 1st Federal Mortgage in Huntsville for their generous support financially and their assistance.  Parents in North Alabama came together donating chips, drinks, candy and more for purchase.  In addition over 25 businesses in the area gave raffle items that drew in a significant amount of money.  We appreciate the support of a great group of parents who assisted in so many ways.  Many parents gave their time to plan, prepare and execute this event.  Thanks, too, to bands:  Second Hand Lincoln, Shane Baker and Jenny Ray.  In addition, the musical talents of Gracie Newsum, Karen Newsum and Joel Monet added to the event's success.  Thank you to all of them.  Ms. Karen Nelson, principal at Whitesburg Middle School was instrumental in allowing us to utilize school facilities for the event.  We look forward to next year.

Plans are already being made in planning for the 2nd Annual BAND TOGETHER concert next year in August.  The tentative date is August 24th.  In Huntsville and Madison City this past year, August was proclaimed to be "Asperger Syndrome Awareness Month" by both mayors.  We know that we can count on them for next year's proclamation.
